The ByoPiC (The Baryon Picture of the Cosmos) team, funded by an advanced ERC grant, invites applications for two (2) postdoctoral positions at the Institut d'Astrophysique Spatiale (IAS) in Orsay (France). The IAS is conveniently located 30 min by suburban train south of Paris, on the Paris-Sud/Saclay University campus. It hosts science groups focusing on planetary systems, solar & stellar physics, astrochemistry, the interstellar medium and cosmology. The ByoPiC team is the major constituent of the cosmology group of the IAS, deeply involved in the Planck and Euclid missions and in future CMB space missions.
We encourage applications from candidates with cosmology and Large Scale Structure backgrounds. Expertise in statistical estimators, theory of the cosmic web, or theory of structure formation/evolution will be appreciated.
The post-doctoral positions (duration up to 2 years) are anticipated to start in September 2019, earlier dates may be envisaged. The salary indexed to CNRS regulation depends on experience. Benefits include full access to the French healthcare system (medical, dental, maternity/paternity leave, etc.). They may also include up to 40% subsidy for public transport fees.
Candidates are invited to submit their application at https://byopic.fr/form/job-submission as a single pdf file including a curriculum vitae, a publication list, a summary of past research (maximum 3 pages) and a statement research interests (maximum 2 pages). At submission, they should provide contacts of three referees who will receive an invitation (from [email protected]) to upload their recommendation letters. Applications should be received by Feb. 1, 2019 but late applications will be examined until positions are filled.
