Job Description

RESEARCH SCIENTIST - PLANETARY PHYSICS -BOULDER, COLORADO

Primary tasks are setting up, running and analyzing planet formation computer simulations. Completed projects should be presented at conferences and then published in academic journals.

Education/Experience:

Requires a PhD degree in Planetary Science, Planet Formation, Orbital Mechanics, Celestial Mechanics, Computational Planetary Science or Modeling Planetary Collisions with at least a 3.0 GPA. and 0-5 years experience. Knowledge of Terrestrial Planet formation, Planet migration, and Collisional processes is preferred; knowledge of the N-body codes commonly used in planet formation and evolution models is preferred, especially those known as Swift, SyMBA or LIPAD; must have a strong research interest and publication record in the dynamics of small bodies in the Solar System, and/or planet formation and/or planet migration; writing journal papers and presenting work at scientific conference is expected.

 

Special Considerations:

Work assignment is in Boulder, Colorado.
