Applications are invited for a 2-year Postdoctoral Research Fellowship to work on the formation and evolution of galaxies on a theoretical and computational perspective. The successful applicant will work with Dr. Jérémy Fensch and Pr. Gilles Chabrier at the Centre de Recherche Astrophysique de Lyon (https://cral.univ-lyon1.fr/?lang=en) in the AstroENS team based at École Normale Supérieure de Lyon.
Our current research focuses on the structure of the interstellar medium, its impact on star formation (IMF) and its evolution with redshift. Of particular interest are hydrodynamics/MHD, turbulence and cosmic rays. Candidates in all areas of theoretical and numerical astrophysics will be considered and are encouraged to apply.
Candidates should have a Ph.D. in Astrophysics, Physics or Applied Mathematics in relation with theoretical and computational physics.
By January 15th 2020, enthusiastic candidates should send:
i) a CV including a publication list
ii) a statement of research interests
iii) arrange for three letters of reference to be provided separately (to be sent to [email protected] and [email protected]).
Starting date: between Summer 2020 and Winter 2020
Compensation Notes: The initial monthly net salary is around 2000€ and is commensurate with experience.
