Job Description

We invite applications for the fifth cohort of the Harvard Postdoctoral Fellowship for Future Faculty Leaders (FFL) at the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics (CfA). Contributions may include increasing the participation of underrepresented minorities in science research through teaching, mentoring, research advising, and public outreach. The program targets individuals who may bring unique perspectives to their fields of research; who may have critical insights that result from non-traditional paths to academia; or whose backgrounds can contribute to increasing excellence at Harvard and the national community of astronomers.*

*Harvard University is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action employer. Applications from women and minority candidates are strongly encouraged.

Academic Targets
The program is intended principally for candidates who are now completing their doctorate, or have recently completed their doctorate but have not yet begun a postdoctoral position. We also welcome individuals who desire additional mentoring and training to prepare for a future postdoctoral or faculty opportunities. Access to Harvard facilities, mentorship, and professional development will help to complete the fellow’s transition to becoming an independent scientist.
