Job Description

The Physics and Astronomy Departments at Columbia University invites applications for postdoctoral positions in Theoretical Astrophysics. The successful candidates will conduct independent and collaborative research within Columbia high-energy astrophysics group (which includes Professors Andrei Beloborodov, Zoltan Haiman, Yuri Levin, Brian Metzger and Lorenzo Sironi), and will have access to high-performance computational facilities at Columbia University and travel funds. A few positions may be open, with research topics depending on the interests of the selected candidates and proposed faculty mentors. The appointment is initially for one year, with anticipated renewal for up to two additional years; this is contingent upon the availability of funds and mutual satisfaction. Candidates must hold a PhD in Physics or Astronomy by the date of the appointment. The expected start date for this position is on or around, September 1, 2021.
