The Department of Astronomy at Tsinghua University invites applications for tenure-track or tenured faculty positions in observational, instrumental, and theoretical astrophysics, especially in areas of high-energy astrophysics, cosmology, star formation/stellar astrophysics and radio astronomy. The expected starting date is September 1, 2022.
Tsinghua University is one of the most prestigious universities in China, and is also highly ranked internationally. It is presently undergoing a major expansion in its astrophysics program. The current research in the department spans a wide range of topics, including cosmic reionization and 21cm cosmology, galaxy formation and evolution, circumgalactic/intergalactic medium, exoplanets and planet formation, active galactic nuclei, supernovae, and X-ray binaries. In addition, the faculty members are involved in developing instrumentation for X-ray satellite missions and ground-based facilities. Description of individual research programs can be found at the departmental web site (http://astro.tsinghua.edu.cn). The department strives to create an accommodating and stimulating academic environment for researchers of all nationalities. English is a working language.
