Astronomical Observatory Institute at the Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań is seeking a postdoctoral researcher to be funded by the Polish National Science Centre. The appointment is available for a period of 4 years, subject to a mid-term evaluation after 2 years. The starting date is expected to be in the summer or fall 2021 and is negotiable. The salary is 10 000 PLN per month (around 6 000 PLN per month after tax). The candidate will be working in the group of dr. hab. Michał Michałowski on various topics on cosmic gas, gamma-ray bursts, and/or supernovae. The group will consist of one postdoctoral researcher, two PhD students and several undergraduate students.
Requirements:
- PhD degree in astronomy or a related field obtained before the beginning of the employment and not earlier than 7 years before the year of the employment. This period can be extended in case of a parental or sick leave.

- statement of research interests and plans between 1 and 3 pages;
- brief (up to one page) statement of research/programming experiences and skills;
- a copy of the PhD degree certificate (original language is acceptable), or the statement on the expected PhD thesis submission and defence.
