The Department of Astronomy (DOA) at Tsinghua University invites applications for two postdoctoral fellowships in areas broadly related to cosmology, galaxy formation and evolution, high energy astrophysics, exoplanets and time domain astrophysics. Candidates with background in instrumentation, observation or theory are all encouraged to apply. Successful candidates have the opportunity to conduct independent research, and will have access to domestic and international observing facilities and computational resources. More information can be found at the DOA web site (http://astro.tsinghua.edu.cn). Applications to Tsinghua Astrophysics Fellowship program will be automatically considered for other postdoctoral openings in related areas (approximately five each year).
Applicants should have a Ph.D. in physics, astronomy, or a related field. A complete application should include a CV, a list of publications, and a statement of previous and future research. Materials, combined in a single PDF file, should be sent via email to: firstname.lastname@example.org, by December 15, 2020 to receive full consideration. The applicant should also arrange for three letters of recommendation to be sent to the same email address prior to the deadline. Initial appointment is for two years, renewable for a third year depending on performance and funding. Successful candidates will be offered internationally competitive salary and subsidized housing. They are normally expected to start at Tsinghua no later than September 1, 2021.
