The Space Telescope Science Institute (STScI) invites applications for a post-doctoral researcher position to work with Dr. Alessandra Aloisi and collaborators, including Drs. Andrew Fox, Bethan James, and Jason Tumlinson, on observational studies of the multi-phase interstellar medium, chemical evolution, and stellar populations of nearby star-forming galaxies. This research will include analysis and interpretation of UV observations with the Cosmic Origins Spectrograph (COS) on the Hubble Space Telescope (HST) and supporting optical ground-based observations. Part of the time may be available for independent research or new projects in related areas. The nominal start date is expected to be in Summer/Fall 2018, but other dates are negotiable. The initial appointment is for two years, with an expected renewal to a 3rd year subject to satisfactory performance and availability of funding.

More important is the willingness to pursue new projects, learn new skills, and work independently to bring these projects to fruition.
