The Waterloo Centre for Astrophysics (WCA) at the University of Waterloo invites applications for two 3-year postdoctoral positions. The first is a WCA Postdoctoral Fellowship, open to researchers in any area in astrophysics to conduct independent research. The second position is open to candidates who would spend at least 50% of their time working on topics related to galaxy formation and evolution with Michael Balogh.
The WCA consists of 14 research-active faculty members with active visitor and meeting programs. Research is undertaken in several areas including cosmology, large-scale structure, CMB, gravitational lensing, black holes, galaxies, clusters, quasars and sub-mm astronomy, with interests in a number of future experiments including FYST/CCATp, CFIS, DESI, EHT, Euclid and Rubin/LSST (https://uwaterloo.ca/astrophysics-centre/). The group has a close connection to the Perimeter Institute, which is located just a short walk away.
A competitive salary and research allowance will be provided, and researchers will be able to access additional funding for visitors and hosting meetings.
