We invite applications for an additional postdoctoral research position in the Sejong Cosmology Lab led by Prof. Graziano Rossi at Sejong University in Seoul, Korea. We are particularly interested in an enthusiastic and highly motivated candidate with excellent skills in statistical analysis and manipulation of large datasets, strong computational ability, and possibly familiar with cosmological constraints from the large-scale structure and/or large-scale structure theory. The position is funded by a Korea National Research Foundation grant focused on the exploration of the Dark Sector with cosmological probes. The initial appointment is for 2 years, with a possible 1-year extension. Candidates should hold a Ph.D. by the starting date. Some funding for travel and computing equipment will be provided. Current interests of the group include numerical cosmology and cosmic web clustering with large-volume surveys, neutrino and dark sector science, and the Lyman-Alpha forest.
Applications should consist of a cover letter, curriculum vitae, publication list, and a statement of research interests, to be submitted to [email protected]. In addition, the applicant should arrange for 2-3 reference letters to be sent directly to the same email address before the deadline. Application material should be received by July 15, 2021 for full consideration. However, late applications may be accepted until the position is filled. The starting date can be as early as September 1, 2021, and later appointments can be negotiated.
Sejong University achieved a remarkable growth in ranking over the past few years, and it is constantly growing. In 2021, for the first time, the University entered the top 50 list according to `THE Asia University Rankings’ and was ranked first among general universities in Korea by the ‘2021 Leiden Ranking’, which evaluates research performance. The University is located in central Seoul, a vibrant and dynamical global city with plenty of attractions, major technology hubs centered in Gangnam, and featuring five UNESCO World Heritage Sites.
