The IMPS combines observational, numerical, and analytical studies of the I(S+G)M and of galaxy and star formation, and includes UCSC faculty Aguirre, Mathews, Madau, Robertson, and Prochaska. Under the direction of Professor J. Xavier Prochaska the Postdoctoral Scholar will conduct forefront research on topics related to diffuse gas in the universe. Observers and theorists interested in I(S+G)M research, galaxy/IGM interactions, and star formation are encouraged to apply. This position will require the selected candidate to work independently yet collegially in a team environment. Along with other group members, the incumbent will have access to the Keck and Lick Observatories, data from the DESI experiment, and the new super computer at UCSC.
