The Institute for Astro- and Particle Physics at the University of Innsbruck invites applications for a postdoc position. The candidate is expected to contribute to the development of science cases for the ELT and to the design and development of software modules for the ELT instrumentation projects of the institute.
The appointment may start as early as January 2018 and will be for 2 years.
Applicants should have a PhD in astronomy/astrophysics or physics with focus in astronomy/astrophysics. Experience in the areas of astronomy/astrophysics with preference in observational-oriented astronomy and development of astronomical data reduction software is required. Experience in the areas of data acquisition, data reduction and data analysis of astronomical instruments, simulation of observational data, use of state-of-the-art astronomical software packages and ESO standards of software development and data reduction pipelines are desirable.
Participation in teaching is expected.
