ORISE Science and Technology Policy Opportunity

The Oak Ridge Institute for Science and Education (ORISE) Science and Technology Policy Opportunity offers candidates a chance to participate in research programs integral to the mission of the Solar EnergyTechnologies Office at the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) in Washington, D.C.  This is an excellent opportunity to learn about the federal government and its role in advancing science and technology.  Participants are expected to use their expertise in science and research to help develop and manage solar R&D projects.

Develop leadership skills in science and technology policy by designing and implementing national research and development (R&D) strategies and programs in the following areas:
• Photovoltaic technologies
• Concentrating solar-thermal power technologies
• Systems integration technologies for solar energy on the electric power grid
• Other activities, including technology transfer, strategic analysis, and stakeholder engagement

Eligibility

This opportunity is open to talented scientists and engineers with bachelor’s, master’s, or Ph.D. degrees in the physical sciences or engineering, as well as established professionals with relevant post-degree experience.  Participants must be a U.S. citizen or have Permanent Resident (Green Card) status.
