Job Announcement Text:

The Department of Physics & Astronomy at the University of Kentucky is seeking candidates for a 2-years (with the possibility of renewal) post-doctoral position to work on galaxy clusters with Prof. Yuanyuan Su. Experience with X-ray data analysis is desirable, but not a requirement, and candidates with broad observational experience and interest in cluster science and extragalactic astrophysics are also encouraged to apply. The approximate start date is summer/fall 2020 but negotiable.

UKY is the flagship university of the state of Kentucky, located in a vibrant city, Lexington. It is an hour drive away from Cincinnati and Louisville. Members of the astronomy group at UKY carry out research in both observations (i.e., SDSS, MaNGA, HST, VLA, Chandra, XMM) and theories (i.e., Cloudy). The position offers a competitive salary with full benefits. The successful candidate will have ample funds for travel and an opportunity for a long-term visit to the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics to collaborate with Drs. Ralph Kraft, Paul Nulsen, John ZuHone, Christine Jones, William Forman, and Scott Randall.
