The Astronomical Observatory at Ghent University in Belgium invites applications for a PhD position in galaxy evolution, under the supervision of Prof. Arjen van der Wel. The successful applicant will have the opportunity to work with data from large galaxy surveys (VLT/LEGA-C, HST/CANDELS and/or upcoming datasets from JWST) within the context of an international research team.
Supported by a 4-year salary and ample travel funds, the student will be encouraged to attend meetings, conferences, and collaborative research visits abroad.

Applicants should have a MSc degree in astronomy or a closely related field.
