Job Description

The newly established Nevada Center for Astrophysics (NCfA) at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) invites applications for two Prize postdoc positions with a competitive salary and independent research funding. The successful candidate of the first position will have a research emphasis in multi-messenger and time-domain astrophysics. The research direction of second position can be any other research areas covered by the current NCfA faculty members, including black holes and accretion disks, stars and protoplanetary disks, exoplanets, cosmology, and atomic and molecular astrophysics. The two prize postdocs will be hosted at the Department of Physics and Astronomy. The positions are initially for two years and have the opportunity to extend to the third year based on the performances of the fellows. The prize postdocs are encouraged to communicate and collaborate with center members and play an active role in NCfA academic activities.
