The Max Planck Institute for Astrophysics invites applications for a postdoctoral position in the area of computational gravitational lensing. The successful candidate will work with Dr. Simona Vegetti on the development of new gravitational lens modelling codes and applications in the field of galaxy formation. Strong computational skills are required, while knowledge in the field of gravitational lensing will be considered as a plus.
The position comes with a generous travel budget and the opportunity to travel to the US and the Netherlands to work with collaborators. As part of the position, the postdoctoral researcher will also be involved in the supervision of PhD students within the group.
The position is available from February 2018, but the starting date is negotiable. The appointment will be initially for 2+1 years, with the possibility of a fourth year extension, pending on performance.
