Postdoc in computational astrophysics
The School of Natural Sciences at the Institute for Advanced Study in Princeton, New Jersey, has an immediate opening for a postdoctoral research associate in computational astrophysics. Women and minorities are strongly encouraged to apply.
The position is part of a Characteristic Science Application (CSA) partnership with the Texas Advanced Computing Center (TACC) to develop advanced astrophysical fluid dynamic solvers for next generation (exascale) computing systems. The successful candidate with work directly with Prof. James Stone to improve and extend the Athena++ astrophysics MHD code for future computing systems at TACC. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in high-performance computing and astrophysical fluid dynamics. Candidates will also have the opportunity to collaborate with other postdoctoral members and faculty at the Institute and at Princeton University, as well as researchers at other institutions, on topics related to the goals of the project. The initial term of the position will be for two years.
