The Department of Physics and Astronomy at Clemson University (a Carnegie RI Research University) invites applications for several PhD positions starting in Aug. 2020. The department has strong research interests in Astronomy, Laboratory Astrophysics, Space and Atmospheric Physics, Biophysics and Condensed matter physics. Specifically we are seeking to attract candidates with research interests in Astronomy, Laboratory Astrophysics and Space Physics, but welcome applications from all fields.
Applicants will hold a bachelor's degree in physics or a related discipline and should submit a CV, general GRE, transcripts, a personal statement, at least two letters of recommendation and TOEFL (for non-native English speakers). All admitted candidates will receive a competitive salary and benefits in accordance with the policies of Clemson University.
Applicant evaluations will begin in early January 2020 and accepted candidates will be notified in late February.
