Job Description

The department of Steward Observatory seeks applicants to fill a Postdoc position in data analysis of spectroscopic data related to galaxy formation. The applicant should be interested in pipeline development and working on flight projects with Profs. Erika Hamden and Carlos Vargas in their UV group at the University of Arizona. Applicants will work specifically on developing software for the Aspera Mission, in addition to the various other projects in process by this group (FIREBall-2, Hyperion, etc). Applicants should have a demonstrated record of success or have an interest in working with UV data, spectroscopic data, and/or pipeline development at any wavelength. Applicants are encouraged to develop their own science portfolio while working in the UV group.
