Job Description

The Texas Tech Department of Physics & Astronomy invites applications for a postdoctoral research position in time domain astrophysics.  The successful applicant will work with Professor Michael Fausnaugh on multiwavelength studies of active galactic nuclei, supernovae, gamma-ray bursts, and/or other transients, as well as survey design and data-hosting infrastructure.

Candidates are required to have a Ph.D. in Astronomy/Astrophysics or a related field before the date of hire. Expertise with any of the following is desired: data calibration/reduction, time domain methods (at any wavelength), software design/architecture, statistics and modeling techniques. 

The start date is negotiable for summer or fall of 2024. The position is for two years, with a third year extension possible depending on performance and available funding.
