Tenure-track faculty positions at the National University of Mexico

The Institute of Radioastronomy & Astrophysics of the UNAM (Morelia Campus) invites applications for two tenure-track faculty positions in astrophysics at the Assistant/Associate Professor level.  Applicants should hold a PhD in astrophysics or a related discipline, and have at least two years of postdoctoral experience.

Candidates from all subfields of astronomy and astrophysics will be considered, although for one of the positions, preference will be given to applicants in the areas of cosmology and galaxy formation (theoretical, computational, or observational).  Current Institute faculty have a broad range of interests, with particularly active research groups in extragalactic astronomy, interstellar turbulence, and star formation.

The successful candidate is expected to carry out original research, collaborating with the research staff (23 faculty; 5 postdocs) and graduate students. The candidate will be expected to teach graduate astronomy courses; these may be taught in either English or Spanish. The main selection criteria will be outstanding research accomplishments and promise of future achievement.
