Job Announcement Text:

The position is for two years fixed term contract, commencing in October 2019.

A highly-motivated postdoctoral researcher is sought to join the Cosmology and Relativity Group in the Astronomy Unit, School of Physics and Astronomy, at Queen Mary University of London. The researcher will work under the supervision of Dr. Tessa Baker as part of the programme "Probing Gravity on Non-Linear Scales”, funded by the Royal Society Fellows Enhancement Award RGF\EA\181023.

The successful candidate will lead the development of novel simulations that allow a native relativistic treatment of nonstandard cosmological models, such as extensions of General Relativity and massive neutrinos. They will study the impact of relativistic corrections upon large-scale structure, cosmological voids and gravitational lensing. This work will have important applications for (but not limited to) future tests of gravity with the Large Synoptic Survey Telescope (LSST), and other experiments. The researcher will be given Junior Affiliate status within the LSST consortium, and the opportunity to participate actively in the collaboration.

The position is available for two years commencing on 1st October 2019, or as agreed. Potential applicants are welcome to contact Dr. Tessa Baker with any queries about research aspects of the position (
