Postdoctoral scholar in Near Earth Objects and planetary astronomy at Northern Arizona University

The Trilling research group in the Department for Physics and Astronomy at Northern Arizona University seeks a postdoctoral scholar to be part of this research team. We work primarily on Near Earth Objects and carry out a range of investigations that use telescopes on the ground and in space; archival data; laboratory experiments; and modeling. The successful candidate will carry out research related to observations of Near Earth Objects and/or potentially other topics in planetary astronomy, broadly defined. The successful candidate is expected to publish scientific papers and, as appropriate, submit proposals for external funding. The successful candidate may choose to mentor undergraduate and/or graduate students, though this is not required. Minimum qualifications are an earned PhD or other doctoral-level research degree in the field of physics, astronomy, planetary science, or an appropriately related field. Preferred qualifications include knowledge and experience with topic(s) described above. Preferred qualifications also include experience with proposal writing and experience with software approaches to astronomical research.
