The newly established research group “Star-Planet Systems” led by Prof. Dr. Katja Poppenhaeger is seeking a postdoctoral researcher to work on phenomena of exoplanets and their host stars. The successful applicant will enjoy considerable academic freedom to pursue their own scientific development, including access to observational and computational resources at AIP. We encourage applications from scientists with broad interests in exoplanet systems, and both observers and theorists are welcome to apply.
The position is offered for an initial period of three years and may be extended to a total of five years, subject to satisfactory performance. The fellowship provides a salary based on the German public service scale (TV-L E13). Employer contributions to medical and dental insurance, maternity leave, and retirement benefits are included. The AIP is an equal opportunity employer who values diversity and particularly encourages women and other underrepresented groups to apply.
Applications for and inquiries about the position should be sent to Prof. Katja Poppenhaeger via [email protected]. To apply, please send a single PDF file containing your curriculum vitae, publication list, as well as a research plan to the given address. Applicants should also include the contact information for three references, who may be contacted at a later stage in the selection process.
Applications received before December, 31st, 2018 will receive full consideration.
