We invite applications for postdoctoral researchers in Extragalactic Astrophysics: SU FV-4358-18.
The position is available from fall 2019, for 2+1 years. Earlier starting is negotiable. Closing date: 31 Jan 2019.
The position will concern observational extragalactic astronomy in the group of Associate Professor Matthew Hayes. We are searching for highly qualified scientists to exploit large data-sets obtained from the HST and ESO/VLT in recent cycles. We also have PI access to LSST. Scientific topics include the ISM/CGM of low-redshift starburst galaxies, and/or star formation histories of mid-to-high-redshift galaxies.
Applicants should have strong backgrounds in extragalactic astronomy, possibly including SED modeling techniques and nebular diagnostics; in-depth knowledge of statistical methods would be an advantage. The applicant must have a PhD (or equivalent) in Astrophysics or a related field. Stockholm University strives to be a workplace free from discrimination, with equal opportunities.
