About the Role

A postdoctoral researcher in cosmology is sought to join the Cosmology and Relativity Group in the Department of Physics and Astronomy, Queen Mary University of London. The successful applicant will work with the group of Dr. Tessa Baker on tests of gravity, using large-scale structure and related probes. This will involve the development and analysis of simulations (including approximate simulation techniques) in extended models of gravity. These will be used to study observables relevant to upcoming galaxy surveys such as LSST, and gravitational wave propagation.

About You

To apply, you will need to have PhD or a shortly excepted PhD (thesis submitted by job commencement) in Physics and closely related subject, and a history of publications and seminars appropriate to your career stage. Numerical skills and experience with cosmological simulations (including approximate simulation methods) will be helpful.

The post is based at the Mile End campus in London. It is a full-time (35 hours per week), fixed term appointment for two years, with an expected start date of March – October 2022 (negotiable). The starting salary will be Grade 4, in the range of £33,824 - £38,655 per annum (pro-rata), inclusive of London Allowance.
