National Astronomical Observatory of Japan (NAOJ) invites applications for the positions of
NAOJ fellow, in order to encourage highly qualified young researchers to participate in research

The applicant must designate a host researcher among NAOJ Research and Academic staff, and should consult with the host researcher about the application and research plans. Please refer to the following list.

The fellow will become a member of the project in NAOJ which their host researcher belongs to, and work at one of the NAOJ campuses at Mitaka (Tokyo, JPN), Mizusawa (Iwate, JPN), Nobeyama (Nagano, JPN), Kamioka (Gifu, JPN), Okayama (Okayama, JPN), Hawaii (Hilo, Hawaii, USA.), and Chile (Santiago, CHL).
The appointment term shall start on April 1, 2023 or later, but the candidate is expected to begin his/her appointment no later than September 30, 2023. The term is for five years, including the probation period of six months. Annual review will be conducted. If the candidate had been an NINS employee within six months retroactively from starting date, the term will be set so that the total employed period does not exceed ten years.
