The Department of Physics and Astronomy at Clemson University (a Carnegie R1 Research University) invites applications for a faculty position in astrophysics at the tenure-track Assistant Professor or higher level to begin August 15, 2020.

Currently, our department has strong research efforts in the areas of high-energy astrophysics, time-domain and multi-messenger astronomy, nucleosynthesis, cosmochemistry, and star & planet formation. Our search will be primarily focused on candidates with research interests in exoplanets and planet formation/the origins of solar systems. However, applications from outstanding candidates in all areas, including cosmochemistry, time-domain astrophysics, and multi-messenger astronomy are encouraged. We seek someone who can complement and enhance the research activities of the department.

The Department of Physics and Astronomy is a collegial, collaborative environment committed to broadening participation in Physics & Astronomy. The successful candidate will establish an externally funded research program and teach physics and astronomy at both the undergraduate and graduate level.

Qualifications

Required qualifications include a Ph.D. in Physics, Astronomy, or closely related field.
