Job Description

The Institute for Advanced Study at Tsinghua University, Beijing (IASTU) invites applications for a postdoc fellow position in theoretical and computational astrophysics. IASTU is a research institute dedicated to theoretical studies of fundamental science, and also collaborates closely with Department of Astronomy in the same campus. The successful candidate will work in collaboration with Prof. Xuening Bai and/or Prof. Zhuo Chen on topics of mutual interest, including disks and planet formation, stellar astrophysics, radiative transfer and high-energy/plasma astrophysics, and are encouraged to carry out independent research.

Applicants must have a PhD degree in physics, astronomy, planetary science or a related field by the time of appointment. The appointment is initially for two years, and is renewable for a third year contingent upon performance and funding. The successful candidate will be offered competitive salary, subsidized housing and standard benefits. The applications will also be considered for the “Shuimu Scholar“ program at Tsinghua University. The starting date is negotiable but is expected to be no later than October 1st, 2023.
