Job Description

The Department of Astronomy at Indiana University invites applications for a tenure-track, Assistant Professor position in observational exoplanet science. We seek candidates who can take advantage of the newly-installed NEID high-precision radial velocity spectrometer at the WIYN 3.5-m telescope, to which the Department has guaranteed access. IU is committed to quality undergraduate and graduate education and research mentoring at all levels and to diversity; we seek candidates who will share that commitment. Faculty members are expected to teach one course per semester.

Indiana University is a partner in the 3.5-m and 0.9-m WIYN Consortium at Kitt Peak. In addition, IU has excellent information technology infrastructure including TeraGrid computing resources, supercomputer capability, and massive and rapid access data storage systems.

Qualifications include a Ph.D. or equivalent in Astronomy, Astrophysics, or Physics, and an exceptional research record; relevant postdoctoral experience is expected.
