Job Description

The Institute for Astronomy at the University of Hawai’i at Mānoa invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the Assistant level. The IfA operates its three facilities, one on O‘ahu (on the Mānoa campus), one on Maui, and one on Hawai‘i Island, collectively as a single but distributed UH-Mānoa research/teaching unit. UH Mānoa is the flagship campus of a 10-campus system, and is one of only a handful of institutions that are land-, sea-, space-, and sun-grant institutions. We deliver a multicultural global experience in a Hawaiian place of learning. The IfA solar group has a diverse range of heliospheric research expertise and has guaranteed access to the NSF 4-m Daniel K Inouye Solar Telescope. Candidates with research experience in solar physics, space physics, or closely related fields are encouraged to apply. This position is one of three that are expected to begin in Fall 2023 and will be based on Maui.

For more information about the position, including required qualifications and application materials, go to https://app.ifa.hawaii.edu/personnel/faculty-positions-at-the-institute-for-astronomy-based-on-maui/. The application deadline is December 31st. The University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa is an AA/EEO employer.
