The Department of Physics at Truman State University, a top-ranked public liberal arts and sciences university, has one full-time, tenure track appointment beginning August 2021. The Department is in the process of expanding our astronomy course offerings and adding an Astronomy/Astrophysics track to our major. Ideal candidates will be able to teach both introductory and advanced courses in physics and astronomy, and provide high-quality research experiences for undergraduates. Responsibilities include Teaching a range of introductory and advanced undergraduate physics and astronomy courses; conducting research and scholarship involving undergraduate students (startup funds are available); academic advising of physics majors; service to the department, school, and university. Requires Ph.D. in physics, astronomy or closely related field.
