Postdoctoral Position in Cosmology at ICC (Barcelona)

The physical cosmology group at ICC (Institute of Sciences of the Cosmos) of the University of Barcelona is seeking outstanding postdoctoral candidates. We are looking for researchers with a strong background in cosmology and analysis of large-scale structure surveys, but exceptional candidates in other areas will also be considered.

Applicants must have (or have fulfilled all the requirements for) a PhD in Astronomy, Astrophysics, or Physics by the time the contract starts. The successful candidate will work with Licia Verde and the group on the interpretation of state-of-the art and forthcoming cosmological data. Experience with analysis of data, statistics, possibly applied in the cosmological context and familiarity with coding is highly desirable. Familiarity with high performance computing is a welcome plus. Members of the group are involved in the following collaborations: DESI, EUCLID, and COrE.

The position is expected to begin in the fall of 2019, but earlier starting date is negotiable. The appointment will be guaranteed for two years and can be extended depending on performance and funding availability. The position is associated to the IDEAS European Research Council ERC-COG grant n.725327 (P.I.
