Job Description

Outstanding candidates are invited to apply for an immediate postdoc opening in the high-energy astrophysics. We seek candidates with background in radiative processes, particle acceleration, and jets/outflows from compact objects. Experiences in theoretical and computational astrophysics are highly desirable. The successful candidates are encouraged to collaborate on the current projects carried out at LANL, including with the HAWC observation team, and they will also be able to develop his/her own research programs. The initial appointment is for two years, with a possible third year extension.

The position is offered by the Nuclear and Particle Physics, Astrophysics and Cosmology group within the Theoretical Division at Los Alamos National Laboratory. Outstanding candidates may also be considered for a Director's Fellowship as well as the distinguished fellowships such as the Marie Curie, Richard P. Feynman, J. Robert Oppenheimer, or Frederick Reines Fellowships. Applicants with US citizenship will also be considered for the Metropolis Postdoctoral Fellowship in Computational Physics. Candidates who want to be considered as distinguished fellowship must send all material by Oct. 15. The review of applications will be on-going until offers are accepted.

Education: PhD in related fields completed within the past five years or soon to be completed.
