The Postdoctoral Associate will work with Dr. Edmund Hodges-Kluck on characterizing circumgalactic dust and gas, including cataloging the amount of dust using ultraviolet and infrared images, measuring the properties of hot winds with X-ray data, designing observing strategies for observing circumgalactic gas and galactic winds with upcoming X-ray spectrometers, and independent research on other related topics.
We invite researchers familiar with galactic winds, circumgalactic gas, X-ray astronomy, cosmic dust, or related topics to apply. Candidates for this position must have a Ph.D. in Physics, Astronomy, or a related subject.
The initial funding for this position will be for two years, renewable for up to two additional years, subject to performance and funding availability. The position includes a competitive salary and research/travel funds.
