A unique opportunity to combine your strong analytical skills with a passion for astronomy/navigation. We are seeking a Senior Analyst to support the delivery of Her Majesty's Nautical Office (HMNAO) product portfolio, spanning astronomical and celestial navigation and astronomical data.

Her Majesty’s Nautical Almanac Office (HMNAO) – sits within UKHO’s Operations Division’s Scientific Analysis Group. HMNAO is a specialist team whose purpose is to provide solutions to astronomical and celestial navigation problems and to provide astronomical data to a wide variety of customers, both military and civil, including the public.

The purpose of this post is to support the delivery of the HMNAO product portfolio schedule.

If you have a passion for astronomy/navigation and thrive on working in a small, close-knit technical team, then this could be the role for you.

We are looking for candidates who have the tenacity to analyse large volumes of numerical data and the ability to work with a high level of attention to detail to ensure a consistent and accurate output. You will have a degree/postgraduate qualification level, or equivalent experience, in mathematics or physics related discipline and will be computer literate with experience of programming languages.
