The University of Montana Department of Physics and Astronomy invites applications for two (2) tenure-track faculty positions in astronomy and/or astrophysics beginning August 2023. Appointments at the assistant professor level are expected, but a more senior appointment may be possible for exceptionally qualified candidates. We seek applicants who have a strong commitment to excellence in undergraduate education and the potential to develop an externally funded research program involving undergraduate physics majors. Start-up funds are available. Applicants from all fields of research (observational, theoretical, computational, or experimental) are invited to apply. The successful applicant will be expected to teach a wide range of undergraduate astronomy and physics courses and develop a successful research program. The candidates will be vital members of a program that is focused on excellence in teaching, research and engagement of undergraduate students. Qualifications: Ph.D. in physics, astronomy or astrophysics who have a strong commitment to excellence in undergraduate education.
