The Department of Astronomy and Astrophysics (https://www.astro.ucsc.edu/) at the University of California, Santa Cruz (UCSC) invites applications for a Postdoctoral Researcher, under the direction of Professor Alexie Leauthaud. The Postdoctoral Researcher will conduct forefront research on topics related to gravitational lensing, galaxy clustering, cosmology, and galaxy formation. Candidates with both observational and theoretical backgrounds are invited to apply. This position will require the selected candidate to work independently yet collegially in a team environment. The Leauthaud research group is involved in several wide-field state-of-the-art cosmological survey projects including the Hyper Suprime Cam Survey (HSC), LSST, WFIRST, LSST, and the Dark Energy Spectroscopic Instrument (DESI). The candidate will also join a diverse and vibrant cosmology research program (https://cosmology.sites.ucsc.edu/). Together with collaborators, the incumbent will have access to the Keck and Lick Observatories and the Hyades super computer at UCSC. Applicants with any of the following qualifications are strongly encouraged to apply: expertise in extragalactic cosmology, expertise in galaxy formation, theory, and/or demonstrated record of publication.
