The Department of Astronomy at the University of California, Berkeley (UCB) and Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL) seek applications for (2) postdoctoral associates in the area of computational astrophysics, in support of a collaboration developing state-of-the-art techniques to study supernovae and related phenomena. The expected start date is no later than August 1, 2021 which is flexible. The incumbent will be a core contributor to one or more efforts developing advanced methods for radiation hydrodynamics, non-LTE radiation transport, and/or large in-situ nuclear reaction networks. In addition, the incumbent would be expected to support software/hardware co-design activities by engaging with scientists at Berkeley and Los Alamos as an expert in computational methods. The position is for one year, full time, with renewal contingent on performance & funding. The position will be open until filled.
