Assistant Professor, Astrophysics & Cosmology

The Department of Physics at Yale University invites applications for an Assistant Professor in Astrophysics & Cosmology.  Yale offers a lively academic environment and access to world-class astronomical facilities, including the Keck, and Palomar telescopes. Yale is an institutional member of the SDSS-IV, SDSS-V, and Simons Observatory collaborations, and Yale faculty are also involved in DESI, LSST, CMB-S4, and CHIME. Yale also offers High-Performance Computing facilities and has established a new Institute for the Foundations of Data Science. Current astrophysics research at Yale includes cosmology, black holes, high-energy astrophysics, dark matter, dark energy, large-scale structure, galaxy evolution, stellar evolution, star formation, exoplanets, solar physics, and the interface of particle physics and astrophysics. Observers, instrumentalists, and theorists are all encouraged to apply.

The successful candidate is expected to build a vibrant research group, be an interactive member of the Physics Department, and contribute to teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels. We are especially interested in candidates who, through their research, teaching, and/or service, will contribute to the diversity and excellence of the academic community.
