The newly established AGN/Cosmology group at the University of Miami is seeking a Postdoctoral associate starting in October 2018 to work under the supervision of Prof. Nico Cappelluti. The topics are primarily: data analysis/modeling of AGN growth in extragalactic wide field surveys, cosmic background fluctuations from unresolved/diffuse sources and AGN databases mining under the supervision of Prof. Nico Cappelluti. We look preferentially for candidates with experience with simulations and semi-analytical models of black holes growth and/or X-ray data analysis. Independent research within the group’s interests is highly encouraged. Candidates with experimental and/or theoretical background are encouraged to apply.
Positions are initially for two years with a yearly review. A competitive compensation package is offered.
A recent PhD in Physics, Astronomy, or related field is required, candidates who expect to obtain their PhD after the deadline should obtain it before the start date.
