I am looking for an excellent experimental astroparticle physicist to lead my university group in the areas of high-energy astrophysics, gamma-ray astronomy (H.E.S.S., CTA), and astroparticle-physics related work in the ATLAS collaboration. The candidate shall lead existing activities, and develop and test new directions for observations of the high-energy universe (gamma rays and other wavelengths) or searches for dark matter or improvements of air-shower simulations using particle collider measurements. The position comprises teaching activities, supervision of students and postdocs, and grant application writing and management.
Profile:
- PhD in astronomy, astroparticle physics, or particle physics
- deep knowledge and experience in data analysis / interpretation and/or simulation based instrument studies (performance or R&D) and/or detector commissioning or operation
- excellent command of English as well as excellent team working and communication skills
