Job Description
We are seeking a talented and highly motivated student to work at the cutting edge of this rapidly moving research field. You will be involved in the follow-up and analysis of exciting phenomena in the era of large scale transient surveys and of gravitational waves. You will engage in research by using advanced datasets from observations of transient objects at different wavelengths, and you will be trained in the use of tools such as the polarization of light and the study of the transient galactic environments, in order to shed light on the different aspects of stellar deaths. You will have the opportunity to participate and contribute to large collaborations and projects in an international environment.
Qualifications
Candidates should have (or should be about to obtain) a master's degree in physics, astronomy or engineering or a similar degree with an equivalent academic level. Applicants with previous experience in the mentioned areas of research, strong programming skills and knowledge relating to data reduction and analysis are especially encouraged to apply. Flexibility and self-motivation are desired skills at DTU Space, as well as a natural interest in collaboration and personal responsibility. The successful applicant is encouraged to pursue independent research interests during the course of the PhD.
