The Department of Astronomy and Astrophysics at The Pennsylvania State University has an immediate opening for a Research Technologist Level 2 - Science Planner on the Science Operations Team of the Swift Gamma-Ray Burst program. Swift (https://swift.gsfc.nasa.gov/) is a NASA MIDEX-class Explorer mission operating since November 2004. The duties of a Research Technologist-Science Planner include creating schedules for targets to be observed by Swift, participating in Swift operations as required, and supporting science analysis conducted by Swift research faculty. U.S. Export Administration Regulations require that the successful applicant provide proof of employment eligibility under International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR, 22CFR120-130). Proof of employment eligibility requires documentation that you are a) a U.S. citizen; or b) a Resident Alien (i.e. green-card holder).
