The Theoretical Astrophysics Group at the University of Leicester invites applications for a post-doctoral Research Associate position funded by the UK’s Science and Technology Facility Council.

The successful applicant will have a strong Theoretical or Numerical Astrophysics track record in one (or more) of the following topics: self-gravitating discs; planet or star formation; planet migration and dust dynamics; AGN feedback and feeding;  stellar evolution modelling. The applicant will be expected to carry out independent and collaborative research with Prof. Nayakshin and other members of the Theoretical Astrophysics Group (whose existing research programme includes planet formation, AGN feeding and feedback, general theory of accretion discs, the role of Sgr A* in the evolution of the Milky Way, Galactic dynamics and Dark Matter). The current members of the group are Profs. Andrew King, Walter Dehnen, Graham Wynn, Richard Alexander and Mark Wilkinson. The principal selection criteria will be research accomplishments and promise of future achievements in Theoretical Astrophysics.
