Job Description

The Theory and Observation in Planetary sciences team at the Observatoire de la Côte d'Azur in Nice (France) has an opening for a postdoctoral position in the field of Proto-Planetary Discs and Planet Migration.

The research activities of the Observatoire de la Côte d'Azur (OCA) include all fields of astrophysics, Earth sciences and instrumentation.

 

The successful applicant will carry out original research in the field of planet formation and migration and the physics of proto-planetary discs, using models and simulations. Funding is from the french national research agency (ANR) within a collaborative project on "Growth and Evolution of Planets in protoplAnetaRy Disks" together with the university of Tübingen (Germany), where a second Postdoc position will be available. The work will involve collaboration with this german group. Experience in performing hydrodynamical and/or magnetohydrodynamical simulations is highly desirable.

The appointment is initially for one year but extendable up to three years, and paid according to the ANR salary grid for post-docs.
