The School of Chemical and Physical Sciences is looking to appoint a full-time, permanent position at the lecturer level. Applicants are welcome from individuals who have specialist knowledge and experience in any recognised branch of physics.
The successful applicant will actively participate in the School's research, teaching and service. They will contribute to undergraduate teaching programmes in the School. They will contribute to supervision of postgraduate students and will develop a strong independent research programme that will attract external funding.
The successful applicant will have a PhD in Physics. Strong candidates will have a defined research agenda, with an established publication record in leading refereed journals.
The School has an outstanding research focus in physics, including nanomaterials and devices, astrophysics, electronic materials and magnetic resonance physics. The School hosts the MacDiarmid Institute for Advanced Materials and Nanotechnology, which involves an active collaboration between several universities and crown research institutes across New Zealand.
