UPDATE (1 Dec): This is a joint position between NC State and the Perimeter Institute, with options to be located at either institution. Mack will be primarily located at Perimeter from June 1, 2022.
We are seeking a postdoctoral research fellow to work with Assistant Professor Katie Mack in theoretical/computational cosmology. The research area will be the impact of dark matter particle interactions on baryonic matter in early halos and in the present-day universe, with a particular focus on consequences for galaxy formation and stellar processes. Facility with numerical tools and experience with programming in Python/C, Monte Carlo modeling, and analysis of simulated data will be advantageous.
The researcher will have opportunities to work independently on a range of projects and to interact with members of the NC State Physics Department, the N3AS NSF Physics Frontier Center, and the Perimeter Institute.
This is a fixed-term 3-year position, supported by NSF Award Number AST-2108931.
